Robby was born in Vienna, Austria.

It was the year Disneyland opened, Greenpeace was founded and cigarette ads were banned on TV.

Robby’s childhood was not affected running around with a S-8 camera or similar more being accompanied by his mother’s

vision to become a doctor. ​

One day on a sunny fall afternoon in Vienna all this should change his life forever. Robby found himself on a film set in the role

of an extra. A sense of magic and excitement ran through him and he felt something inside come alive- It was love on first sight. ​

​
He was accepted in the film program of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. ​ During that time he worked on a few feature productions, but mainly in commercials. ​

​
After graduating with an M.A. in 1999, his roots and passion brought him back to Israel. In 2010 his search and passion manifested

in the birth of his beloved daughter Yuval Shir. ​

​

Robby presently lives with his family in Berlin, speaks German, English, Hebrew as well as some ​Polish & Italian. ​
​
​As a filmmaker, he is passionate and captivated with the creative challenge of each and every project.



He is always finding the optimal approach and harmony between idea and realization.



His good vibe and positive way of life reflects in every aspect of his work as well as on the set. ​
